7 Facts About Space That Will Enhance Your Knowledge.
Do you know about the largest cosmic void in the universe?
At the moment it is KBC void. Cosmic voids are places that are completely empty
or have a very few galaxies. There is only darkness in them which can extend to
millions of light years. Scientists say they may have been formed shortly after
the big bang. It is generally believed that matter spread evenly in all
directions after the Big Bang. But that probably didn’t happen. It accumulated
in large numbers in many places, and only a small amount in other places. Or
not at all.
Scientists attribute this to baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO).
Which may be caused in considerable fluctuation in the density of matter and
its speed? These vibrations can change
the state of the matter. Due to which matter did not accumulate much in some
places. In addition, dark energy later expanded these cosmic words to many
more. The KBC void is the largest cosmic void ever discovered. It was a
discovered in 2013. It is so huge that its diameter is up to 2 billion light years,
and it is getting bigger. But it is not completely empty. In fact, our Milky
Way galaxy is part of this cosmic void.
Suppose all of a sudden our Sun disappeared during the day.
We do not see the sun in its place. Then the never ending winter on earth will
begin. Something similar happened with this star. Scientists have discovered a
very strange phenomenon millions of light years away in space. The year was
2015 when a scientist noticed that a red supergiant suddenly disappeared from
its place. The name of this star was N6946-BH1Which was 20 million light years
away from us. Astronomers have been observing the star for many years.
It was believed that a supernova was about to explode in the
star. Its brightness was increasing. All of these symptoms were indicative Of a
Supernova. But there was no supernova explosion and this star. Before the
explosion, the star turned into a black hole. This usually happen after a
supernova explosion. It was 25 times more massive than our Sun. Its entire mass
collapsed in its own Gravity. This event was detected in the NGC 6946 Galaxy.
This is present in the constellation Cygnus. Scientists call it the failed
supernova or Unnova. This was considered a very strange event.
We may have heard of the Rouge planets many times before.
This is not part of any solar system. These planets just keep wandering in
interstellar space without any gravity effect. But scientists also believe that
there are rogue stars that keep wandering outside the galaxies. Such stars are
not part of any galaxy. These stars pop out of galaxies. Such stars begin to move towards the empty
parts of space. The idea that such stars actually existed was the subject of much
discussion in the late 1990s.
The Scientist says that these stars have the same origin as
normal stars, but for some reason they were thrown out of the Galaxy. But then
in the year 1997 the first evidence of the Rogue star was found. Evidence of
the first rouge star was found in a Virgo cluster. Scientists say this could be
due to a collision between two galaxies. Those stars reach intergalactic space.
More than 600 Rogue stars have been discovered in the Milky Way galaxy so far.
It is estimated that there are more than a trillion such a star in the entire universe.
Such stars originate mostly from small galaxies.
4. The Biggest water reservoir

Everyone knows the importance of water. Water is abundant in
the form of the oceans of the earth. But scientists have discovered a vast
amount of water in space many times greater than the water on earth. What is
even more surprising that the presence of water was found around a supermassive
quasar. These quasars are Ultra Luminous supermassive black holes. That release
electromagnetic radiation as energy into interstellar space. This quasar is a
named APM0 8279+5255. This quasar is 12 billion light years away from us. Its distance from us is a so great that its
red shift is 3.911.
They are usually surrounded by gas and dust. In the middle
of it is a black hole that is 20 billion times more massive than our Sun. But a
2009 study by the Hubble Space Telescope found evidence of nearby H2O. It is so
large that it is more than a hundred trillion times more than the water in the
oceans on Earth. In addition, this
quasar is the brightest object ever discovered in space. At the moment this
quasar exists in the constellation Lynx at a great distance from us. It would
be amazing to find such a huge body of water in space, especially if it were
near a supermassive black hole.
5. Hoag’s object

A Galaxy with a distance of more than 600 million light
years from the US was discovered. This Galaxy is quite strange and looks like a
ring Galaxy. Hence, it is also called ring Galaxy. It was discovered by Arthur
Hoag, in 1950 and become known as Hoag’s object. In fact, it is a non-typical
galaxy. But it is also a fact that to this day it remains a mystery whether is
a galaxy or a nebula. At its centre is a yellow nucleus surrounding by eight
billion blue stars.
The size of this pacular galaxy is quite large. According to
scientists, its radius is up to 60,500 light years. Its mass is estimated to be
equal to 1.54 trillion suns. The centre of this object and the large amount of
space in the surrounding stars is a mystery to scientists. Astronomers say that
the reason why a galaxy has such a shape may be that galaxies have come close to
each other. When a small galaxy and a large disk shaped galaxy collided, then
may be this ring like galaxy would have formed. It has a much large numbers of
blue stars that are much younger stars. This galaxy is currently in the
constellation of Serpens.
6. Early solar system
Today, almost everyone knows that our solar system was
formed about 4.5 billion years ago from interstellar gas and dust. Today we can
see the presence of a star, 8 planets, dwarf planets and asteroids in our solar
system. But the scientist says that when our solar system was in the beginning, it
contains more than a hundred planets. Which at that time were destroyed by
collisions. In addition, many planets have been swallowed up by the sun. That
time will be full of upheaval. But today we can accept that whatever
catastrophe it was at that time must have been for some good reason. That is
why life on earth is possible at this time.
7.
A star that is on its way out of the Milky Way galaxy. This
is actually a hypervelocity star. This
is travelling in interstellar space at a speed of 723 kilometres per second. The
velocity of this star is so high that it is not gravitationally bound to any
object in the Milky Way galaxy. The star was discovered in 2005 by the European
space observatory’s large telescope array and the Kueyen 8.2 metre telescope.
This is actually a B type main sequence star. It is located 200,000 light years
in the constellation Dorado. It is still a very young star, estimated to be
about 2.5million years old. It is a time more massive than the sun.
