When Two Neutron Stars Collide, Most Violent And Brightest Event In Universe.

If one look at space, at first glance it looks very calm but looking at in another light, we see that it is also in turmoil. The Neil Gehrels Swift satellite was launched in 2004. The task of this Swift satellite released by NASA is to detect a Gamma ray burst, the most powerful and energetic event in the universe. Gamma ray burst EMIT as much energy in just 2 seconds as the sun emits throughout its lifetime.  All this energy came out in the form of a jet with the speed of light. This satellite has detected a lot of Gamma ray bursts so far. This could be due to the collision of two neutron star. Neutron stars are the core left over after a supernova in a star many times larger than the sun.

The effect of gravity is so great that evens the protons of a remaining Core collapse on their own and turn into a neutron. It contains the strongest metal in the universe called nuclear pasta. A neutron star is made up almost entirely of neutrons. More than a hundred years ago, Einstein predicted that when the two most massive objects in the universe Orbit each other, ripples begin to form in the space-time fabric. Which we call gravitational waves. This is the most violent event in the universe. The Cause of this phenomenon is two dead stars. These gravitational waves spread across the universe at the speed of light in every direction. This could be due to two black holes or two neutrons star.

But when two black holes collide, nothing comes out. Not even a Ray of light. Only gravitational waves are produced during this quiet event. At the moment, today we will learn about the collision of two neutron stars. In fact, when two neutron stars collide in space, it is considered to be the brightest phenomenon in the universe. As a result of the collision, so much energy is released that perhaps even the entire stars of the universe do not produce energy together. Of course this scene can be worth watching. After all, who can deny seeing the most powerful phenomenon in the universe?

But this explosion is so powerful that you would probably be wise to see it thousands of light years away. Neutron stars are extremely dense. Even a single drop of this is star could be weighed as much as the several thousand kilograms. The collision of two neutron stars could be caused by the binary Steller system in which the star remain within a radius of only twenty kilometres after death. It is amazing how two dead stars form a Kilonova like phenomenon on this Cosmic Level. Of course the range of these neutron stars would be just as big as a city.

Even then, their mass is many times greater than that of the Sun. They are so dense that the space in the particles is completely eliminated. After becoming a supernova in a binary staller system, the neutron stars continue to orbit each other. Over time stars gradually get closer to each other. Due to the gravitational radiation of each other, ripples begin to form in the space time fabric. This proves Einstein’s theory to be true once again. Their proximity to each other stretches and squeezes the space. This produced gravitational waves.

Then begins the process of merging between two neutron stars.  The collision gives rise to a Kilonova Event. The collision of stars is so powerful that the magnetic field of a neutron star is tens of millions of time greater than that of the Sun. Then for Just for 2 seconds the brightest explosion in the universe occurs. It produced the Gamma Ray Burst. In which matter is expelled at the speed of light in the form of Jets. We can call it the biggest event since the Big Bang. But all this is only for two seconds. But even a single beam of Gamma Ray burst could wipe out life on earth.

It is so bright that it can be seen from thousands of light years away. But this is not the only catastrophe. This phenomenon given birth to many heavy elements such as iron, gold, platinum etc. are only born after kilonova. In fact, all the heavy elements we see on Earth today originated after a supernova in a star. This followed by the formation of a black hole. It is well known that the first gravitational wave was detected in 2015. The on August 17, 2017 a gravitational wave was detected which was caused by the collision of two neutron stars in NGC 4993, a Lenticular Galaxy. This confirms that collision between neutron star give rises to Short Gamma Ray Burst

This Galaxy is currently located in the Constellation Hydra at a distance of 140 million light years away from us. It was the first galaxy to detect both a gravitational wave and a Gamma Ray Burst, which was a huge discovery. These Waves are detected in Ligo and Virgo observatories. Both of these observatories were created to do just that. They received singles from this Gravitational wave for about 100 seconds. This is the first time that a collision of two neutron stars has been detected. Ligo means Laser interferometer gravitational wave observatory that was specifically set up to detect these waves.

It is one of the largest scientific instrument machine in the world. Indeed, the cosmos is so vast that even the imagination is reduced from it. There are always such shocking events happening in it. Which are waiting to come before us in this quite looking Space because its magnitude is so great that we see now would already happened.
